A stabbing incident has been reported in Southport in Northwest of England where multiple people are feared dead. Police said that a knife has been seized and a man has been detained.
According to a report in BBC, there are a “number of reported casualties”. Confirming the deaths, Merseyside Police said there are a number of reported casualties and added that more details will be confirmed.
The Merseyside Police, in a statement, said, “We can confirm that emergency services are in Southport following a major incident this morning, Monday 29 July.”

The police said that they received a call reporting a stabbing at a property on Hart Street at around 11.50 am (local time).
“Armed police have detained a male and seized a knife. He has been taken to a police station,” they said. They added that there is no risk to the wider public.
The BBC quoting North West Ambulance Service said paramedics have treated eight patients with stab injuries.
