Bentley Motors, in collaboration with renowned British fashion designer Supriya Lele, has unveiled a bold new shade called ‘Nila’ Blue.
This unique colour, exclusive to Bentley Mulliner customers, blends Lele’s Indian ancestry with Bentley’s proficiency in high-end car design. The Sanskrit term for ‘sapphire’ inspired the name Nila Blue, which, the company said, represents both tradition and creativity. It is well known that Bentley’s Mulliner offers customisation influenced by fashion, art, and individual memories. To capture the uniqueness of each client, Mulliner’s craftspeople collaborate closely.
Bentley and Supriya Lele’s concept was translated into the new colour ‘Nila’ Blue, which is a sophisticated, inventive, and distinctive shade.
The core elements of Supriya Lele’s design aesthetic are sensual, fitted silhouettes and a sophisticated colour scheme that frequently incorporates blue tones. Her affinity for the colour stems from both her Indian ancestry and the intellectual analysis of blue shown in William Gass’s 1976 work “On Blue.” This tint embodies the principles of subtle elegance and luxury that Bentley Mulliner’s design and Lele’s fashion label both uphold.
As per HT Auto, Lele co-designed a custom Bentayga S for the colour’s debut to highlight its brilliance. Along with colour-matched lower brightware and a blue pinstripe on the 22-inch sports-style wheels, the premium SUV’s exterior is entirely Nila Blue.
In contrast, Mulliner White accents are used to draw attention to the carbon fibre body kit. This contrast is maintained inside the vehicle’s cabin. Custom features on the interior include satin black Naim audio speaker grilles and open-pore crown-cut walnut veneers with black stains and Nila Blue borders, which are the outcome of Lele’s bold and creative design.
Customers of Bentley will have exclusive access to Nila Blue via the Mulliner Bespoke Studio. Customers who are interested in learning more about this combination of fashion and automobiles can contact Bentley retailers.
