Met Forecasts Heavy Rain In South Bengal Till August 2

The Met office has forecast heavy rainfall in south Bengal districts till Friday. This comes as Kolkata and adjoining areas experienced this monsoon’s first incessant downpur since July 31 afternoon.

Office-goers and school children faced difficulties reaching their destination on August 1 as heavy rains caused traffic snarls at some places in the city and its suburbs.

“Light to moderate rain with heavy downpour at one or two places are likely to occur in all south Bengal districts till Friday,” the Met Office said in its forecast on Thursday.

It also stated that very heavy rain is likely at one or two places in Purba Bardhaman and Paschim Medinipur districts till Friday.
