ThunderPlus, a leader in EV charging solutions, has teamed up with Delta Electronics India to transform India’s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.
This strategic partnership aims to launch India’s first locally-made fast chargers designed specifically for two-wheelers (2W) and three-wheelers (3W), addressing the rapidly growing demand for EVs in the country.
The new chargers are designed to meet the needs of gig workers, e-commerce businesses, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), offering a faster, more reliable solution for electric vehicles. Powered by Delta’s advanced 4kW rectifier modules, the chargers are fully customisable to suit India’s diverse market.
Rajeev YSR, CEO of ThunderPlus, emphasised the importance of this collaboration, stating, “Our customizable chargers cater to the unique requirements of OEMs and end-users, ensuring efficient and seamless integration with their operations.”
The new LEVDC chargers can charge an electric two-wheeler in just 10 minutes and a three-wheeler in 30 minutes. This efficiency supports their “Chai Pe Charge” campaign, promoting quick charging solutions that eliminate the need for traditional off-board chargers, which often have limited lifespans due to rough usage.
The LEVDC chargers stand out due to their fast charging capabilities and OEM-specific features. They eliminate the need for off-board chargers, which typically have a shorter lifespan due to rough usage. With a range from 4kW to 12kW, the chargers are designed for scalability, enabling seamless adaptation to the growing needs of India’s EV market.
Niranjan Nayak, Managing Director of Delta Electronics India, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, “This partnership with Trinity underscores our mission to contribute to India’s EV transition by delivering cutting-edge, locally manufactured solutions.”
ThunderPlus Director Rajkumar echoed this sentiment, saying, “By partnering with Delta, we aim to bridge the gaps in the low-voltage EV charging market and ensure that India’s gig economy and OEMs have access to reliable, fast, and scalable charging solutions.”
As India’s EV sector continues to grow, the partnership aims to reduce charging downtime, tackle range anxiety, and boost the productivity of EV users, especially in the 2W and 3W segments.
The new chargers also offer co-branding opportunities, featuring the “Delta Inside” label, reflecting the collaboration between both companies.
