The leading car maker in India Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd (SAVWIPL) has kickstarted the production of Kylaq at the company’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Pune’s Chakan.
The news has been confirmed by the brand via official release, marking its commitment to innovation, localization, and customer-centric offerings in the country.
Platform and Localisation
The Skoda Kyliaq has been built using a robust platform called MQB-A0-IN. It has been created via the highest level of localisation, featuring four important pillars – comfort, safety, quality and global design.
Amid this, the company is also gearing up to expand its local supplier chain. It has boosted the base by 10 percent, which helps to cut down ownership costs.

Speaking About the same, Managing Director and CEO of Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, Piyush Arora, said, “We’re thrilled to begin production of Škoda Auto India’s first sub-4-meter SUV. Congratulations to the entire team on the successful start of production.”
In addition, he said “Kylaq is engineered and developed in India to cater to the evolving requirements of Indian customers. By manufacturing Kylaq locally, we proudly support the Make-in-India initiative, maintaining Group’s DNA of delivering safety, comfort and driving dynamics. It was heartening to see the positive reception it received at the World Premiere last month, and I am confident that Škoda Kylaq will truly resonate with Indian car buyers.”

Meanwhile, the Skoda Kyliq has already created a buzz in the market. It has reached over 10,000 bookings in just 10 days since official booking started.
