Delhi-NCR News: GRAP Stage-3 Curbs Revoked In Capital As Air Quality Improves

The Centre’s panel on Delhi-NCR’s air quality revoked stage 3 restrictions under the Graded Response Action Plan on Sunday after air pollution levels eased. Stage 3, which was imposed on Friday, includes a ban on non-essential construction work. Classes up to grade V are required to transition to a hybrid learning model, with parents and students having the option to choose online education if available.

Additionally, Stage 3 restricts the use of BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel cars (4-wheelers) in Delhi and nearby NCR districts, except for individuals with disabilities. Non-essential diesel-operated medium goods vehicles with BS-IV or older standards are also prohibited under Stage 3.

Delhi’s air quality has shown improvement, with the 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) standing at 339 at 4 pm and 335 at 5 pm on Sunday, and the trends indicate the AQI levels will go down further.
