Television actor Kanwar Dhillon is winning hearts with his stint as Sachin Deshmukh in the hit show, Udne Ki Aasha. Co-starring Neha Harsora, the show has been securing the top spot in the TRP charts for a month now. As Udne Ki Aasha continues to earn love from fans, the actor recently sat for an interview with a media portal. During the conversation with The Times of India, he shared his thoughts about the show staying on top and got candid about being the bankable star in television.
Sharing his views on ‘Udne Ki Aasha’ reigning in the top position, Kanwar stated, “Well, it feels great that a good show like Udne Ki Aasha is receiving so much love from people. When I signed the show and the show began, I knew that this is the show I should have high expectations from, even if it takes time. And you know, since the time Udne Ki Aasha was launched, it paved its way towards the top five shows right from the beginning, and it eventually grew.”
“It took its time because, for the first three months, you were stuck between cricket, first, it was IPL, and then it was the World Cup. And even then, it managed to rate really well. So at least one thing was established, that the show has made its mark, and it’s connected with the audiences. And it was just about time that the show got what it deserves, and today, when it’s consistently been at the top for a month, we have always been in the top three, top two, or top four list,” he added.
Elaborating further, Kanwar added, “Now that the show has been number one for a month, it just solidifies my belief in the fact that if the story, content, and the show are good, it will always do well, and I am proud of my decision and my team. I feel on top of the world. Having said that, I wouldn’t like to take this for granted just because people say, Oh, television, number one actor, number one show ka hero. I don’t want to take that to my head. I just want to continue to keep doing my work well and delivering, you know, with a good performance for the audiences, and giving them a good show.”
The actor also shared his views about being called a bankable star. He said, “I think if people feel that I am a bankable star or a bankable hero today, I feel gratitude, humbled and grateful that God, my viewers, and my audiences have given me this position. The kind of love and support that they have always given me solidifies my faith in the fact that hard work will always give you its result sooner or later, and that one should never give up on working hard and staying focused on their craft. And I think I have done very well.”
Set against a Marathi backdrop, Udne Ki Aasha explores the story of Sailee (Neha) and Sachin (played by Kanwar Dhillon). Neha’s character Sailee, a florist, is a simple, loving girl looking for her prince charming. The storyline took an intriguing twist when she met Sachin, and the two fell in love. Despite their contrasting backgrounds, they navigate challenges like family conflicts while also maintaining their relationship.
