Actor Amar Upadhyay began his journey in the entertainment industry with television and is known for his portrayal of Mihir Virani in the cult daily soap Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. But the actor eventually quit the show and took his chances to make a name for himself in the film industry. In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Ram Kapoor claimed that he told Amar years ago that he shouldn’t have left TV and turned to films so quickly. He emphasised Amar could have gained more fame had he stayed longer on TV. Now, Amar Upadhyay has reacted to the same and expressed that he has no regrets.

During a chat with Telly Talk, Amar Upadhyay mentioned that he has not seen the interview yet but was informed about it during a media interaction. He stated, “I thought they were just spreading rumors. My philosophy in life is that I don’t care what people say or think about me. I don’t pay attention to negative comments or podcasts that mention me in a negative light. I have a very positive mindset, and I know that I am an extremely hardworking person.” Amar mentioned that he does not stay at home for more than two to four days and is quite anxious if he does not work. The actor added, “I’m not going to leave TV, and I won’t leave it because television has given me constant work.”

Moreover, expressing that he has both regrets after leaving TV, Amar asserted how many of his former colleagues are no longer working on television. In contrast, he has been in the profession for 32 years and is still going strong. He is working on an online series, regional films, and is considering what to opt for next. He said, “God is kind, and I have a lot of work to do. Woh kehte hain nah, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge… Logon Ka Kaam Hai Kehna. People will talk, but I’ll just focus on my work and ignore the negativity.”

Over the years, Amar Upadhyay has worked in several popular Bollywood films, such as LOC Kargil, 13 B, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 among others. The actor is expected to be seen on TV again with the upcoming show Doree 2.
