Due to the Mahakumbh, the GATE 2025 and JAM 2025 exam centers in Prayagraj have been moved to Lucknow, and new admit cards are available on the official websites.
The GATE 2025 exam, scheduled for February 1 and 2, and the JAM 2025 exam, scheduled for February 2, were originally set to take place in Prayagraj. However, due to the Mahakumbh, both exams will now be held in Lucknow on the same dates. A notice on the official websites for GATE 2025 and JAM 2025 confirmed this change in exam centres.
“Based on the representations received from several candidates expressing their difficulty in reaching the examination centres in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, regarding the huge congregation of devotees expected in the Mahakumbh on February 1 and 2, 2025, the examinations scheduled at centres in Prayagraj have been shifted to centres in Lucknow on the respective GATE and JAM examination days,” reads the official notice.
For GATE 2025, five exam centres have been moved from Prayagraj to Lucknow, while for JAM 2025, four exam centres have been relocated.

The notice states that new admit cards have been issued for candidates whose centres were changed. These can be downloaded from the official websites: gate2025.iitr.ac.in and jam2025.iitd.ac.in.
IIT Roorkee will conduct GATE 2025 on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, and IIT Delhi will hold JAM 2025 on February 2, 2025.
Candidates must also bring the photo ID they uploaded during the online application process, as mentioned in the admit card, for identity verification.
