Weather Forecast For North India: The winter seems to be abating in North India as the cold is gradually abating bright sunshine in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. However, the flip-flop in the weather that we saw over the last two weeks is likely to continue due to the effect of a Western Disturbance.
A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the western Himalayan region from February 8.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for rain and fog in several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar. The weather in Delhi will remain dry during the day, but the temperature may drop as there is a possibility of rain. Cold winds may blow in the morning and at night.
A bulletin from the IMD read: “Cold wave conditions may prevail in isolated places over Himachal Pradesh and northern parts of Rajasthan Dense fog at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh. Thunderstorm/ Lightning at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand Uttar Pradesh.”
Weather Forecast For Delhi
The sky is expected to remain clear in Delhi on Thursday, February 6. “Mainly clear skies. Shallow fog and mist. Likely in the morning. The maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 25 and 09 degrees Celsius, respectively,” a weather forecast bulletin for Thursday by the Regional Meteorological Centre read.

The maximum and minimum temperatures on Wednesday were 23.7°C and 11°C, respectively.
Delhi’s air quality remains in the ‘poor’ category, with the overall AQI reading 251 at 5:30 AM.
Light Rain In Uttar Pradesh
The weather will be clear in most parts of Uttar Pradesh today, but light rain is possible in eight districts. Rain is forecast in Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Saharanpur, and Moradabad. Winds are expected to blow at 20-30 km per hour in eastern and western UP on Thursday. The maximum and minimum temperatures may drop by 2-3 degrees Celsius on February 8 due to the effect of the Western Disturbance.
Snowfall In Himachal Pradesh
Fresh snowfall has occurred in the high-altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh, increasing the cold. The Meteorological Department has confirmed snowfall in Shimla, Kullu, Kinnaur, Lahaul-Spiti, and Chamba districts. Snowfall was recorded in Kufri and Narkanda in Shimla, Manali in Kullu and Dalhousie in Chamba. At least 33 cm of snowfall has occurred in Kothi, 9 cm in Keylong, and 7.4 cm in Manali.
Due to fresh snowfall, the roads in Lahaul and Spiti have become slippery. The local administration has advised people to avoid unnecessary travel. The Meteorological Department has issued a ‘yellow alert’ warning of thunderstorms and lightning in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Chamba, Kangra and Solan. Meanwhile, dense fog is expected in Una, Bilaspur, and Mandi.
Light Rain In Rajasthan
Light rain has been recorded in the eastern parts of Rajasthan in the last 24 hours due to the Western Disturbance. Drizzle occurred in several areas including Dholpur, Sikar, and Ajmer.
The minimum temperature in Fatehpur was recorded at 3.9 degrees Celsius, while the temperature in Bikaner, Nagaur, and Jalore remained between 5 and 7 degrees Celsius. The weather is expected to be clear in the state till February 8.
Rain In Bihar, Haryana, And Punjab
The cold continues in Bihar due to the Western Disturbance, but the temperature may increase gradually. Dense fog will remain in Patna, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, and Darbhanga. Meanwhile, rain is also expected in Haryana and Punjab over the next three days.
