ETO Motors, a leader in electric mobility, has partnered with FlixBus India to launch the first intercity electric bus route between Hyderabad and Vijayawada.

This collaboration, marking FlixBus India’s first anniversary, represents a key step towards sustainable travel in India, supporting the country’s aim for a cleaner, greener future.

The electric vehicle (EV) pilot on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada route will feature four electric buses. A two-week test run, starting in late February, will evaluate performance and refine the service. After this, a 12-week trial will monitor key metrics like battery efficiency and passenger patterns.

Minister Prabhakar expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “FlixBus and ETO Motors will together address the long-distance sustainable mobility needs of people in Telangana and the southern region with a technology-driven alternative.”

Rajeev YSR, Group CMO at ETO Motors, commented, “By combining our expertise in electric vehicle technology with FlixBus’ extensive network, we are setting a new benchmark for green transportation. This completes our total offering in green mobility solutions, where we now serve commuters first mile, last mile along with intercity – the middle mile.”

The buses will be supported by fast-charging stations equipped with 240 KW chargers, ensuring smooth operations and preventing overheating. The fleet will be packed with advanced safety features like Dashcams, GPS, and ADAS to ensure a safe and comfortable journey.

The launch event, held at ITC Kakatiya in Hyderabad, was flagged off by Shri Ponnam Prabhakar, Minister of Transport, and BC Welfare, Government of Telangana. Also attending were Alexander Reck, Counsellor for Digital and Transport at the German Embassy in New Delhi; Rajeev YSR, CEO of Thunder Plus and Group Chief Marketing Officer of ETO Group; and Surya Khurana, Managing Director of FlixBus India.
