YouTube unveiled a new artificial intelligence (AI) tool designed to enhance content creation on its platform. The video-sharing giant announced the integration of Google’s Veo 2 AI model with its Dream Screen feature. With this upgrade, users can now create fully AI-generated videos, expanding beyond the previous limitation of only generating AI-powered video backgrounds.
The company emphasized that this tool can help creators produce footage that is hard to source or transform their ideas into reality.
AI Video Creation For YouTube Shorts
In a blog post, YouTube revealed that it is incorporating Google DeepMind’s Veo 2 video generation model into Dream Screen. With this integration, creators can produce complete AI-generated videos for use in YouTube Shorts—the platform’s vertical short-video feature, introduced in 2020.
The newly added functionality allows users to create videos by entering text prompts. Powered by Veo 2, the tool generates footage based on the description provided, making it easier for creators to produce unique and hard-to-find clips.
