SuperGaming, the Pune-based studio that brought out Indus Battle Royale Mobile, is soft-testing a spin-off of the game in the Brazil market, as tweeted by noted tipster Dramic. For those unaware, Indus was teased by SuperGaming for years, and finally saw the light of the day on October 16 last year. Since then, it has garnered over 5 million downloads on Google Play, earning the platform’s ‘Best Made in India Game’ title.
However, I was thoroughly unimpressed when I reviewed the game due to its undercooked graphics and mechanics (especially after years of hype-building) and I compared it with another major debacle the world of video games saw in recent years.

Now, it seems that SuperGaming has now come up with a so-called new shooter, called Battle Royale eXtraction. Here’s what Dramic tweeted:

However, if you look at it closely, eXtraction is nothing but a spin-off of Indus.
Nothing ‘New’ About It
Screenshots of the Google Play listing show that the game is located in ‘Virlok’ – the same ‘Indofuturistic’ world Indus is based in.
The game claims that it isn’t “just battle royale – it’s a high-stakes battle royale extraction, reimagined for mobile.” The description goes like this: “Drop into Battle Royale eXtraction, where 50 players clash not just to survive, but to loot, upgrade, and escape with their spoils. Lose your gear if you fall. Keep it if you escape.”
Each match will last 15 minutes and all you need to do is scavenge for weapons, take out enemies, and collect Cosmium – the same game-winning drop item that can help you win a game of Indus.
So, it’s simply your regular battle royale, but with a twist of “survive with your loot.”
According to a source familiar with the matter, the ‘Extraction’ mode was already in the works as an update for Indus. However, it now looks like Indus has decided to spin it off as a new game and soft test in Brazil.
There’s no word on if the ‘Extraction’ mode or even the Battle Royale eXtraction game will arrive in India. We have reached out to SuperGaming for response and this report will be updated when we hear back.
Why Test In Brazil?
The game isn’t listed on any other Google Play region, from what ABP Live could verify, except for Brazil. Since Brazil is more or less a similar battle royale (and Free Fire)-worshipping market like India, it makes sense for SuperGaming to soft-test a new game before planning a fully fledged launch in its home country.
Soft tests of new games or even software updates are not new and everyone does it. However, one can’t help but wonder why an in-game mode was spun off into an entirely new game.
