Akasa Air Expands To Abu Dhabi With Direct Flights From Bengaluru And Ahmedabad – News18

A special launch event took place at Kempegowda International Airport, where Akasa Air’s Executive Committee lit a lamp to symbolise the occasion.

This new route adds to Akasa Air’s existing daily service between Mumbai and Abu Dhabi, launched in July 2024.

Akasa Air has launched daily direct flights connecting Abu Dhabi with Bengaluru and Ahmedabad under a codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways.

Having said that, this move strengthens travel links between India and the UAE, with flights departing from Bengaluru on 1st March and from Ahmedabad on 2nd March 2025.

The first flight from Bengaluru took off from Kempegowda International Airport at 10:00 IST on 1st March, arriving at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi at 12:35 AST. The inaugural flight from Ahmedabad departed from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at 22:45 IST on 1st March, reaching Abu Dhabi at 01:00 AST on 2nd March.

According to ET Travel World, Neelu Khatri, Co-Founder and SVP International at Akasa Air, shared her excitement about the new routes: “We are thrilled to launch this new international route with Etihad Airways, enhancing our presence in the UAE, one of the world’s key aviation markets. This partnership opens up new travel opportunities, boosting tourism, trade, and cultural exchanges between India and the UAE. We’re committed to offering passengers seamless connectivity and excellent service with both airlines.”

This new route adds to Akasa Air’s existing daily service between Mumbai and Abu Dhabi, launched in July 2024. With the addition of Bengaluru and Ahmedabad, the airline now operates 21 weekly flights between India and Abu Dhabi, enhancing Akasa’s international connectivity.

This also marks Akasa’s first international route from Bengaluru and a major expansion from Ahmedabad.
