Vrindavan

Vrindavan is considered as holy birthplace of Lord Krishna. It is listed as one of the most iconic places to celebrate Holi. The city offers the best Holi experience, where locals and tourists engage in playful battles of color, dance in the streets, and sing devotional songs together.

How to Reach Vrindavan from Delhi

By Train: The easiest and most affordable way to reach Vrindavan is by train. Few trains depart from Delhi’s Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station or New Delhi Railway Station to Mathura Junction, which is about 15 km from the main city.

From Mathura, you can take a taxi or a local bus to reach Vrindavan. The journey takes around 2 to 3 hours. There are multiple train options that one can opt for, each costing between Rs 180 and Rs 800.

Buses to Vrindavan depart from various locations in Delhi, including Kashmere Gate ISBT and Anand Vihar Bus Terminal. Interested ones can have both private and government-operated buses. The journey will take somewhere around 3 to 4 hours, depending on traffic conditions. The fare will start from Rs 240 to Rs 500, depending on the bus operator and travel time.

Varanasi

Varanasi, which is known as, Kashi, has been listed as the most favourite spot when it comes to celebrating Holi. It is the oldest city in the world and is a major pilgrimage destination for Hindus.

While it is more famous for its ghats and Ganga Aarti, Varanasi also offers a unique experience of Holi. The most exciting celebrations take place on the ghats along the Ganges, where people across the globe come together and enjoy the day.

How to Reach Varanasi from Delhi

By Train: The Delhi-Varanasi Superfast Express or Shatabdi Express are popular options for travellers heading to Varanasi. These trains depart from New Delhi Railway Station and reach Varanasi Junction in about 12 to 14 hours, making it a comfortable overnight journey. T

The journey will cost ranging from Rs 400 for Sleeper Class, while the First Class AC can go up to Rs to Rs 2700.

Although Varanasi is quite far from Delhi (around 800 km), you can opt for a long-distance bus journey as well. Buses leave from Kashmere Gate ISBT and Anand Vihar Bus Terminal. The journey can take anywhere between 14 to 16 hours, depending on the road conditions.

The cost for the same can fall between Rs 540 to Rs 1400, depending on the bus operator and type of bus.

Pushkar

Pushkar, located in the state of Rajasthan, is not only famous for its breathtaking lake views and Camel Fair but also known for its one-of-a-kind Holi celebrations. How to Reach Pushkar from Delhi

By Train: To reach Pushkar by train, you can board a train from New Delhi Railway Station to Ajmer Junction, which takes around 6 to 7 hours. From Ajmer, Pushkar is about 15 kilometres away. Interested ones can take a taxi or a bus to reach the town, which will take a minimum of 30 minutes.

By Bus: Buses to Pushkar also depart from Kashmere Gate ISBT and Anand Vihar Bus Terminal in Delhi. The bus journey to Pushkar takes approximately 10 to 12 hours, depending on the road conditions and traffic. Both the transport can be covered under the price bracket between Rs 700 to Rs 5,000, depending upon the type of bus and train.
