Karnataka Temples Go Digital: Devotees Can Now Order Prasadam Online; Here’s How You Can Do It

The Karnataka government has introduced the e-Prasada initiative, allowing devotees across India to order temple prasadam online from shrines managed by the Muzrai Department. This initiative is designed to make temple offerings more accessible, particularly for those unable to visit in person.

How To Book Prasadam

  • Devotees can visit the official website csc.devalayas.com
  • From the list, devotees can select their preferred temple and order prasadam, which typically includes vibhuti, kumkuma-arishina, a sacred thread, a pendant or photo of the deity, and dry fruits.

The scheme has been launched in a pilot phase across 14 major temples, including Kukke Subramanya, Kollur Mookambika, Saundatti Yellamma, and Ganagapura, as per a report on News 18. Based on public response, the government intends to expand the service to 400 additional temples classified under the Muzrai Department’s A and B categories.

Other Online Facilities

In addition to prasadam delivery, the state government has introduced online puja bookings and live-streamed rituals, enabling devotees to participate in temple services remotely. Among the temples offering these services are Bengaluru’s Banashankari Temple, Mysuru’s Chamundeshwari Temple, Nanjangud Srikanteshwara Temple, and Kateel Durga Parameshwari Temple, reported The Mint. Devotees can pre-book from a selection of 15 different pujas, including Mangalaarathi, Archane, Pushpaalankaara Puja, and Ashtothhara.

Muzrai Minister Ramalinga Reddy emphasised that the digitization of temple services ensures that devotees, regardless of their location, can stay connected to their spiritual practices. By offering online prasadam, virtual pujas, and live darshans, Karnataka’s temples are embracing technology to enhance religious engagement and outreach.
