Devoleena Bhattacharya recently celebrated Rongali Bihu with her husband Shanwaz Sheikh. The festival is popular among Assamese as it marks the beginning of new year, as per their calendar. The actress shared a series of pictures with her husband dressed up brightly for the occasion and sent wishes for her followers.
In the pictures, Devoleena was seen in a bright orange saree with a red blouse. She complimented her outfit with minimal jewellery. She wore some bangles and a pair of jhumkas. Her husband, Shanwaz on the other hand, wore a light kurta and wrapped a traditional cloth around his neck.
Devoleena welcomed her first child with Shanawaz Shaikh on December 18, 2024. She shared a social media post to announce the birth of their newborn boy and later, in another update revealed that they have named their child Joy. They uploaded an adorable family photo in which Devoleena holds Joy and Shanawaz poses behind them. The actress looks stunning in a maroon ethnic suit with flower print. The delight on her face is unmistakable as she lovingly hugs her munchkin in her arms. She disguised her baby’s face with a red heart emoji. The following photo also shows their pet dog, Angel. In the caption, she wrote, “Our hearts are overflowing as we welcome our newest family member. Meet JOY, our bundle of happiness!”
Earlier this month, the actress posted a video on Instagram showing the clay casting procedure for her baby boy Joy’s hands and feet. In the clip, her son could be in a pink koala-printed co-ord outfit while a clay casting worker took imprints. Devoleena was seen shielding her tiny one’s face from the camera. At the end of the film, Devoleena proudly displayed the little golden-hued casts of her son’s hands and feet.
Devoleena married Shanwaz Shaikh, in December 2022. It was a court wedding in Lonavala, with only close friends in attendance. The actress announced her pregnancy in August of last year. Devoleena was most recently seen in the mythological show Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya. She left the show because she was pregnant. She is yet to announce her next project.
