A new cloverleaf interchange will soon come up near the Mahamaya Flyover to link the under-construction Chilla Elevated Road with a fresh expressway.

This expressway will run along Yamuna Pushta Road, connecting Kalindi Kunj to the Yamuna Expressway.

As per TOI, officials say the design will resemble the major interchange near AIIMS, Delhi, and will make travelling across Noida and nearby cities much easier.

Chilla Elevated Road Nearing Completion

The Chilla Elevated Road is already in the works. It’s a 5.9-km long, six-lane corridor being built at a cost of Rs 892 crore. Once ready, it will allow direct traffic flow from Mayur Vihar to the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, bypassing usual traffic jams at the entry point.

Meanwhile, the new expressway beginning from Sector 94 will offer:

  • Six elevated lanes
  • Eight lanes at ground level
  • Direct access to the upcoming Noida International Airport

Together, these roads will ease travel for people coming from Delhi and Haryana towards Agra, Lucknow, and the new airport, without entering the crowded Noida Expressway.

Noida to Get Its Own “Times Square”

Inspired by New York’s Times Square, Noida Authority is planning to develop a similar entertainment hotspot in Sector 18. This project was revealed during the Authority’s 49th Foundation Day celebrations.

  • Foundation work to begin in the next 10 days
  • Project cost: Rs 10 crore
  • To be completed within a year

The plaza will span 6,500 sq ft and feature:

  • Large LED screens for live matches, shows, and films
  • A video wall, chroma wall, and children’s play area
  • Seating for 150 people and standing space for over 100

Who Will Build the Expressway?

The Noida Authority is in talks with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to take over the expressway project. If they agree, the road might get national highway status.

If not, the Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna Expressway Authorities will likely form a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to fund and build it together. This idea was suggested by the state’s chief secretary and Noida Authority board chairman Manoj Kumar Singh.

Why This New Road Is Needed

With new flats, offices, and the upcoming airport, the 25-km Noida Expressway is feeling the pressure. To handle growing traffic, the board recently gave in-principle approval for this new expressway.

Two versions are being considered:

  • An eight-lane road at ground level
  • A six-lane elevated road running along the Yamuna embankments, from Okhla Barrage (Kalindi Kunj) to Yamuna Expressway
