Passengers flying into Delhi might face delays, as the Delhi Airport has issued an important travel advisory. The delay is due to shifting wind patterns around the airport, which can affect how safely planes land.
To handle the situation, the airport has put Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) measures in place. These are being applied to all arriving flights from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM (IST) on Thursday.
Statement from the Authorities
The advisory stated:
“Due to shifting wind pattern in the vicinity of the airport, certain airline operations may experience delays. Air traffic flow management measures for flight arrivals will be implemented from 1230 IST till 1630 IST today by ATC authorities to ensure safe operations, in accordance with international and regulatory protocols, keeping passenger safety as the highest priority.”
While arrivals may be delayed, Delhi Airport confirmed that all other airport functions—including departures, terminals, and runways—are operating as usual. Travellers are advised to stay in touch with their respective airlines for the latest flight updates.
What Should You Do?
- Check your flight status before heading to the airport
