Haryana Assembly Election 2024: The Election Commission of India on Friday announced that the Assembly polls will be held in Haryana on October 1 across 90 constituencies in 22 districts. The counting will be held on October 4. 

During a press conference, CEC Rajiv Kumar said that the electoral rolls for Haryana will be finalised on August 27. The last date for making nominations is September 12, following which the poll body will begin scrutinising the nominations on September 13.

The last date to withdraw the candidature is September 16.

Out of the 90 assembly seats, 73 are general and 17 come under Scheduled Caste.

According to the EC, the total number of electors in Haryana are 2.01 crore out of which 1.06 crore are male, 0.95 crore are female, and 459 are third gender. Around 4.52 lakh citizens will caste ballots for the first time. 40.95 lakh are young voters.

1.5 lakh voters belong to the PwD catergory and 2.55 lakh voters are aged above 85.

In Haryana there will be 20,629 polling stations across 10,495 locations with an average of 977 voters per polling station. While 7,132 polling stations will be set up in urban areas, rural areas will have 13,497 polling booths.

All the polling stations will be equipped with facilities for drinking water, toilets, voter facilitation centre, help desks, signage, sufficient light, sheds, ramps, and wheelchairs.

There will be transport facility for PwD and elderly people and the poll body will also appoint volunteers to assist them.
