Television actor Abhishek Malik is a big food lover. Now, we are not saying this. The Jamai No. 1 actor revealed this fact on the occasion of International No Diet Day, which falls on May 6 annually. The actor spoke about his relationship with food and why it was a source of comfort for him. He also opened up on why he never views food as a source of guilt or overthinking.

In an interview with the Times Of India, the Jamai No 1 actor said, “International No Diet Day is a beautiful reminder that fitness and food can coexist with joy. I’ve always believed in eating clean and training hard, but also treating myself without guilt. Some days, nothing makes me happier than a big plate of chole kulche and a glass of lassi straight from a dhaba — it instantly takes me back to carefree times with friends and family.”

Elaborating further, he said that food is not just fuel for him, rather it is an emotion. He also revealed one habit that he swears by. “I never attach guilt to food. I enjoy it fully and mindfully and then get back to balance. No stress, no overthinking. Over the years, I have realised that a strong body is important, but a peaceful mind is even more crucial. On this International No Diet Day, let us give our bodies a break and celebrate food, freedom, and feeling good because life is too short to say no to your favourite dish every time,” he added.

The actor is now winning hearts with his role on Jamai No. 1. Earlier, Abhishek had talked about his experience of donning the Joker look for the show. He shared, “I have always been fascinated by the Joker, there is something unpredictable and intense about him that really sticks with you. I remember watching the movie Joker and being impressed by Joaquin Phoenix’s performance. So when I found out that I would be wearing a Joker mask for a sequence, I was thrilled. Of course, this wasn’t the full makeup look like in the film — I’d the mask version.”

He also shared how he pranked people on sets, sneaking up on them with the mask once the shot was done. “I couldn’t help myself. I started sneaking up on people – first my co-stars, then the background artists, and even some of the crew members. And the funniest part, even when they knew it was me, they still got scared! I must’ve worn that mask ten times that day just to catch them off guard. It turned into a fun little prank spree. Moments like these really make the long shoot days more enjoyable, they keep the energy up and bring us all closer as a team.”
