The Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT) Bengaluru-Murdeshwar Express (Train No. 16585) started operating with Linke Hofmann Busche (LHB) coaches from May 5.
The train made its first arrival at Mangaluru Central Station on May 6. The train operates through Mysuru, offering passengers a more comfortable and modern travel experience, as per The Hindu.
Its pairing train, the Murdeshwar-SMVT Bengaluru Express (Train No. 16586), also began running with LHB coaches from May 6. This marks an important upgrade for both directions of the service.
How Many New Coaches?
Out of the 20 LHB coaches used for Train No. 16585, only five are newly manufactured in 2025. T. P. However, all the air-conditioned coaches are older, with some dating back to 2014.
