TVS Motor Company has officially announced that Norton Motorcycles, the legendary British brand it acquired in 2020, will make its India debut by the end of 2025.
TVS purchased Norton for Rs 153 crore and has since invested over Rs 1,000 crore in the brand. The money has gone into product development, research and development, and setting up a new factory in Solihull, UK, which can make around 8,000 bikes each year.
Norton is set to launch six new models by 2027, all built around the pillars of Design, Dynamism, and Detail.
As per NDTV Auto, TVS’s Managing Director, Sudarshan Venu, praised the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA), saying it will help Norton scale up faster and access global markets more easily.
“The FTA will boost growth and allow Indian brands like ours to go global with greater ease,” Venu said. “Norton’s Indian launch later this year is perfectly timed with this development.”
Norton bikes will be manufactured at TVS’s Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu. This move helps Norton directly compete with premium retro rivals like Royal Enfield, Triumph, and Harley-Davidson in India.
The company is likely to unveil one or two next-gen models around September 2025 for the Indian market.
Furthermore, Norton is also working on two new motorcycle platforms:
- A 350-450cc platform targeting India and other emerging markets
- A 600-650cc platform for Europe and global buyers
A 300cc modern classic is expected to be part of the sub-500cc range and could hit markets by 2028.
