Baramulla Police Ensures Safe Return of Evacuees After UXO Clearance In 6 Villages

The Baramulla Police has successfully coordinated the safe clearance of 20 unexploded ordnances (UXOs) reported across 17 villages within the district. This critical operation, aimed at eliminating the risks posed by these potentially dangerous remnants, has now allowed evacuees from six affected villages to return to their homes.

According to district officials, the presence of these UXOs was initially reported by local residents, prompting a swift response from the police and bomb disposal teams.

Following the clearance, the district administration granted formal permission for residents from these six villages to safely return, signaling a significant step toward restoring normalcy in the region. The remaining 11 villages are expected to undergo similar clearance efforts as part of the ongoing safety campaign.
