The electric scooter market started getting a good response worldwide. The top two-wheeler maker TVS, which manufactures BMW’s CE 02 at its facility in Hosur, is leaving no stone unturned to capture a massive target audience globally.

It has been reported that the model has accounted for 65 percent of the made-in-India battery-powered scooters to overseas in FY2025. These figures have been contributed by TVS iQube and Ather Energy, which successfully exported 805 vehicles, followed by Bajaj Auto, which dispatched decent units of Chetak.

Global Response

Ever since the government started pushing the EV culture in the country, the Indian scooter industry has somehow achieved a good heights, unlocking a record fiscal year in FY2025. The market has witnessed impressive sales figures of 6.85 million units, setting a new benchmark by crossing the half-million mark in the second fiscal year in a row.

Export Bussines

Talking about the export business, it also recorded an overwhelming response, reporting a new high in FY2025. The reports suggested that with just under 7,000 units shipped, an increase in the demand rose sharply, marking 325 percent YoY growth.

Meanwhile, the battery-powered scooter BMW CE 02 was launched in India last year. It was released with an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 4.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It is the second offering in the electric segment sold in India after CE 04. The company claimed that the vehicle is specially designed for city-focused to make urban mobility effortless.

Battery and Range

It gets a 3.9 kWh battery setup and offers an impressive range of up to 108km on a single charge. As far as the performance is concerned, it can do a 0- 50 kmph sprint in just 3 seconds.
