Virat Kohli, on Monday, officially announced his retirement from Test cricket, bringing an end to a brilliant 14-year journey in the longest format of the game. He made the announcement via a post on Instagram, leaving his fans heartbroken. Several Bollywood celebs and TV actors paid heartfelt tribute to the Star cricketer’s incredible journey. Among all, TV actor Nakuul Mehta also reacted to King Kohli’s retirement news.

Taking to Instagram, he dropped a picture of the cricketer on his stories and wrote in the caption, “Test cricket will never be the same.” The post was attached to the song Channa Mereya from Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

He also shared a video, paying tribute to Kohli’s remarkable journey and said, “There are some farewells that don’t feel like an ending but a punch to the gut. Virat Kohli.” He further recalled some of Kohli’s iconic Test performances, from his fighting 141 in Adelaide in 2014 during a challenging chase, to the memorable 149 at Edgbaston in 2018, which marked his maiden century on English soil.

“What he gave us cannot be measured in numbers. He turned us into an all-conditions test squad. He built the most powerful pace attack this country has ever seen. He made test cricket sexy again,” he added. The Ishqbaaz actor concluded the video by saying, “I’m not going to say thank you because I’m not ready yet.”

Sharing the clip, he wrote in the caption, “Virat Kohli didn’t just play Test cricket. He elevated it. Test cricket will go on. But for an Indian cricket nut, it may never feel quite this personal again.”

Apart from him, several other renowned actors who also gave Kohli a shout-out for his amazing Test journey include Suneil Shetty, Varun Dhawan, Angad Bedi, Ranveer Singh, Neha Dhupia, Arjun Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and others

Coming back to Kohli, he announced his retirement from Test cricket with a heartfelt post. He wrote, “I’m leaving with a heart full of appreciation – for the game, for the teammates I shared the pitch with, and for everyone who helped me feel seen along the road. I’ll always remember my Test career with a smile. “#269, signing off.”
