A total of 24 Ekadashi fasts are observed throughout the year, with two each month, one during Krishna Paksha and the other during Shukla Paksha. Each Ekadashi holds its own unique significance. The month of Ashadh is about to begin, and the first Ekadashi of this month is known as Yogini Ekadashi.

On this day, devotees observe a fast and worship Lakshmi Narayan, offering kheer as prasad. It is believed that those who frequently fall ill or are battling serious illnesses should worship Lord Vishnu on Ekadashi.

Yogini Ekadashi 2025 Date

Renowned astrologer Pandit Nandkishore Mudgal from the Mudgal Astrology Centre in Deoghar, Jharkhand, told Local 18 that the Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Ashadh is called Yogini Ekadashi. This year, the Yogini Ekadashi fast will be observed on June 21. On this day, Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga, Sukarma Yoga, and Ashwini Nakshatra will also align, further enhancing the significance of this Ekadashi.

According to the Rishikesh Panchang, the Ekadashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Ashadh will begin at 6:44 AM on June 21 and will end at 4:12 AM on June 22. Therefore, as per Udaya Tithi, the fast should be observed on June 21.

Significance of Yogini Ekadashi

Astrologer Mudgal suggests that those who are unable to observe the Nirjala Ekadashi fast should definitely keep the Yogini Ekadashi fast. On this day, devotees should worship Lakshmi Narayan, offer kheer, and chant the mantra ‘Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya Namah’ 108 times. It is believed that this practice can help alleviate frequent illness or ongoing health problems.
