Ducati has officially discontinued the Scrambler 1100 in global markets, including India. Ducati India has confirmed the move and removed the model from its official website. The motorcycle was not updated to meet the upcoming Euro 5+ emission standards in Europe, which are closely aligned with India’s BS6.2 norms.

As a result, it no longer reportedly complies with current regulations in the country. The Scrambler 1100, which was brought to India as a completely built unit (CBU), has now been phased out after an eight-year production run.

Ducati Bids Farewell to the Scrambler 1100 After 8 Years

Launched in 2018, the Ducati Scrambler 1100 came equipped with a 1,079cc L-Twin engine that produced 85 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 88 Nm of torque at 4,750 rpm. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch, this engine has roots dating back to 2009, having reportedly previously powered models like the Hypermotard and Monster 1100.

For its Scrambler debut, the engine is said to have received significant upgrades, including an oil-cooling system, ride-by-wire throttle, and enhanced safety features. These improvements made the Scrambler 1100 a more refined and capable machine. The updated motor remained in use throughout the bike’s production run, starting with its 2018 launch.

Ducati Scrambler 800 Stays in the Game Despite 1100’s Exit

Although the Scrambler 1100 has been discontinued, Ducati will continue offering the more popular 803cc Scrambler in India, as per Hindustan Times. The second-generation model remains on sale, powered by a reliable 803cc engine that delivers 72 bhp at 8,250 rpm and 65 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox for smooth performance.

The Scrambler 800 is priced between Rs 9.97 lakh and Rs 12.60 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in four distinct variants – Icon Dark, Icon, Full Throttle, and Nightshift – each featuring unique styling, colours, and design elements to suit different rider preferences.

The Scrambler lineup has always catered to a niche audience, and while the 1100 offered retro appeal, it wasn’t the most value-packed in terms of performance for its price. Its last available versions were priced from Rs 13.40 lakh to Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom).

With the 1100 phased out, there’s growing anticipation around whether Ducati will introduce a more powerful Scrambler with updated tech and a modern engine in the future.
