An officer from the Daund Railway Police Station said the fire originated in the toilet dustbin, where paper and other waste had accumulated. The investigation revealed that a passenger from Madhya Pradesh had allegedly smoked a bidi and disposed of it in the dustbin, which likely triggered the fire.
According to a railway spokesperson, a 55-year-old man has been detained in connection with the incident. Passengers panicked upon noticing smoke coming from the toilet, but the situation was quickly brought under control, as the train was not heavily crowded.
Thanks to the prompt action of the fire brigade and railway officials, the fire was quickly extinguished, preventing a major accident. The Railway Police are conducting a detailed investigation into the incident. Authorities have urged passengers not to smoke on trains and to dispose of inflammable items responsibly to avoid such incidents in the future.
