IndiGo has confirmed the launch of direct flights from Hindon Airport in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. This move highlights the airline’s continued efforts to make air travel simpler and more convenient for passengers.

Starting July 20, this year, the airline will begin direct services from Hindon to eight major Indian cities. These include Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Indore, Kolkata, Mumbai, Patna, and Varanasi. This expansion is expected to boost regional connectivity and offer faster travel options for people in and around the NCR region.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), IndiGo expressed excitement about launching direct flights from Hindon Airport in Uttar Pradesh. The airline stated, “We’re thrilled to announce the launch of direct flights from Hindon, Uttar Pradesh — further strengthening our commitment to making air travel more accessible for our customers.”

The airline also thanked the Civil Aviation Minister, Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, saying, “We are thankful to Hon’ble Minister of Civil Aviation, Shri Ram Mohan Naidu ji for his constant guidance and support.”

With this launch, Hindon becomes IndiGo’s 93rd domestic and 136th destination overall as per the Economic Times. The new routes aim to boost regional air connectivity while offering easier and quicker travel options for people living in Ghaziabad, East Delhi, and the western parts of Uttar Pradesh.

Until now, most travellers from these areas had to reportedly depend on Delhi’s busy Indira Gandhi International Airport. The new flights from Hindon will now give them direct access to major business centres and cultural cities across India, reducing travel time and improving overall convenience.

Hindon Airport: More Details Here

Hindon Airport is located in Ghaziabad, a rapidly growing area in the NCR, reportedly known for its industries, new housing projects, and closeness to Noida and East Delhi.

Turning this airport into a commercial hub is part of India’s larger plan to improve regional air travel, as per reports. The new flights are expected to help local businesses, students, and tourists by offering easier travel options. They will also help reduce the load on the busy Delhi airport.

As more secondary airports open, India’s aviation sector is moving toward easier, more local air travel in urban areas like the NCR.
