Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen have threatened to resume the attacks on US vessels and the warships in the Red Sea if the US President Donald Trump-led administration joins Israel’s military against Iran. According to news agency AP, the threat from Iran on Saturday came in a prerecorded video statement by the Houthi military spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree.
“In the event of the American involvement in the attack and aggression against Iran with the Israeli enemy, the armed forces will target its ships and warships in the Red Sea,” Saree said as quoted by news agency AP.
The US President Donald Trump is weighing active US military involvement in the war.

Earlier, the military of Israel announced that it struck an Iranian nuclear research facility in Isfahan overnight and killed three senior commanders of Iran in targeted operations while signalling preparations for a prolonged conflict.
Iran’s Khamenei Names Possible Successors
The supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who is said to be sheltering in a bunker, has reportedly named three senior clerics as the potential successors in the event of his death amid the conflict between Israel and Iran.
According to a report by The New York Times, citing Iranian officials, Ayatollah has also begun picking the replacements for military commanders who were eliminated in Israeli strikes. The official has also added that Khamenei has even named three senior clerics as candidates to succeed him should he be killed, as well — perhaps the most telling illustration of the precarious moment he and his three-decade rule are facing.
