Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan with school students on Monday. Young girls were seen tying rakhi to the Prime Minister who also interacted with the school students.
Earlier in the day, Modi extended greetings on the occasion saying the festival symbolises the immense love between brother and sister. “Best wishes to all countrymen on the occasion of Rakshabandhan, a festival symbolising the immense love between brother and sister,” he said in a post on X.
“May this holy festival bring new sweetness in the relationships of all of you and happiness, prosperity and good fortune in life,” he added.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal also celebrated the festival with civilians. Several women who were granted citizenship under the Citizenship Amendment Act tied rakhi to the Union Minister in Delhi.

Several Chief Ministers also celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan including Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Haryana CM Nayab Saini.
