The Maruti Suzuki has been leading the sales chart in India for years, a big thanks to hot-selling products such as Swift, Brezza, and of course Dzire. Despite having image issues and a fixed perception, the model somehow gave a lot to the brand. Now, the company thankfully thought about it and gave the model a much-awaited makeover.
The next-gen 2024-2025 Maruti Suzuki Dzire has been released in the country with a starting price of Rs 6.79 lakh, while the top model goes up to Rs10.14 lakh (all ex-showroom, Delhi). Ahead of the official launch, we were invited by the brand for the national media drive. We managed to drive the vehicle for some decent kilometres, putting it through the ordeal and pushing the model to the edge.

Road Presence
Starting from the road presence as this is the main area, where the model used to receive a lot of criticism earlier. At first glance, it was clear that the company invested good efforts in the exterior and was quite serious about improving its overall appearance. As a result, Dzire has received everything where it was lacking before.
The all-new Dzire, which is not a Swift any more, has been treated with major enhancements from outside. It became more premium than ever, more sophisticated compared to the outgoing version, and emerged like a sophisticated sedan in the range. It gets an all-new crystal vision headlight setup, paired with integrated DRLs, and a hexagonal grille at the front with a sweet touch of chrome.
Moving down, the round-shaped fog lamps remain in the same place. However, to make it look cooler, the unit has been installed in a mate finish cover. It is safe to say that the Dzire now does not resemble Swift any more, and now carries its separate identity.
Notable Changes and Add-ons
Talking about the rear section, some serious efforts are quite visible. From featuring the Y-shaped LED taillights to updated bumpers, the company updated every inch from the outside. It flaunts an impressive length of 3,995mm, width of 1,735mm, height of 1,525mm, and a wheelbase of 2,450mm.
The cabin has gone through a complete transformation. Maruti has replaced many of the previous plastic elements with soft-touch materials, giving the cabin a more premium feel. As soon as the door opens, the updated version welcomes a dual-tone dashboard, along with a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is supported by all the wireless car connect technology including Apple, Android and Auto Car Play. The premium upholstery somehow adds more feathers to its cap.
New Elements
After removing all the boring stuff, the new avatar brought some cool elements inside the cabin such as a wireless charger, the segment’s first electric sunroof, an updated smart key with an additional button for boot access, a 360-degree camera, automatic AC, multiple charging ports, armrest for the rear passengers and the list goes on.
Engine, Driving Dynamics and Comfort
Under the hood, Dzire uses the same engine option as Swift. It means customers get the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 82 bhp and 111.7 Nm of peak torque. The unit is paired with either a 5-speed manual or AMT. The CNG variant is also there to cater wider audience, delivering a max output of 69.75 bhp and 101.8Nm.
When it comes to driving, the car has reached to our expectations without a doubt. The multi-functional steering wheel offers smooth handling, while the braking system is responsive enough to put a complete stop in speed in no time.
The vibration noise inside the cabin has also been reduced by a great margin. Now, the cockpit feels much more silent, allowing the occupants to have a relaxed driving experience on the road. But wait! Once moved on the back seat, the headroom, knee room and legroom, might disappoint those who are 5’11 ft or above.
Safety
Safety must be one of the areas, where manufacturers should extra attention. The company did exactly, what it needed. The company sent the all-new Dzire for the car crash test by Global NCAP and came out with a 5-star rating in adult and a 4-star rating in child safety.
As far as the other notable safety features are concerned, it includes 6 airbags as standard, ABS with EBD, parking camera with dynamic guidelines, speed alert, and seat belt reminder among others.
