Sources said Amazon is unlikely to appoint an immediate replacement for Tiwary and the existing team of leaders will work closely with Amit Agarwal–SVP for emerging markets at Amazon.
“Manish’s leadership over the last eight years has been instrumental in delivering for customers and sellers, making Amazon.in the preferred marketplace in India. Manish will continue with Amazon until October to help ensure a smooth transition,” a spokesperson for Amazon India said.

ET reported last December that Amazon started a significant top-level restructuring of its India management team under Tiwary. The reshuffle was to see a new dual leadership structure coming into effect at the online retailer under Tiwary and Agarwal, sources had said then.
