Rutuja Bagwe and Ankit Gupta led drama series Maati Se Bandhi Dor is set to go off air soon. Premiered in May 2024, the show opened to a positive response from viewers and critics but failed to satisfy the audience. In a recent interview, Ankit Gupta, who plays Ranvijay in the show, looked back at his journey.
In a conversation with India Forums, Ankit Gupta noted that he enjoyed playing the character of Ranvijay, which helped him explore his craft and grow professionally and personally. He said, “Ranvijay taught me how to show your emotions with subtlety. There is no need to go over the board all the time. I grew as a human being, and it helped me understand my emotions.”
Talking about the show’s end, the actor said that he would really miss the cast and hopes to share the screen with them again in future. After this stint, he looks forward to playing a more dark character and taking up action as a genre.
Maati Se Bandhi Dor with narratives of love triangles, secret marriages, and emotional turmoil failed to impress viewers, leading to its short run. Although the concept was fresh in the beginning and the lead pair displayed an interesting dynamic, the TRP ratings of the show soon tanked. Over the past year, certain plot tracks, including a marriage, didn’t connect with viewers. Many fans expressed their displeasure with the makers on the internet, saying that the story feels unrealistic, which led to a decline in interest.
With the show’s departure expected soon, the journey of Vaiju and Ranvijay will come to an end. As the cast bids farewell to this project, Ankit Gupta and Rutija Bagwe’s fans await their upcoming projects in the entertainment world.
On the work front, Ankit Gupta is known for many popular television shows such as Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi and Kundali Bhagya. He rose to fame with his role of Parth Kashyap in the popular show Sadda Haq. The actor also gained recognition from the serial Udaariyaan, in which he was paired with Priyanka Chahar Chaudhary. The chemistry of the two was well-liked by the audience. After that, he appeared in Salman Khan’s reality show Bigg Boss 16.
