At least three people have been killed, while 20 others have been injured in a blast inside a madrasa in Pakistan, the Dawn reported.
The blast, which ripped though the Madrasa Haqqania in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Nowshera, comes a day ahead of Ramadan, the holiest month in the Islamic calendar.
Local officials told the Dawn that at least 20 people have been injured and admitted to hospitals.
The blast occurred during Friday prayers in the main hall of the madrasa.
The report said that Maulana Hamidul Haq Haqqani was the target of the blast. Maulana Hamidul Haq Haqqani, a politician and Islamic scholar, is the chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Sami).
