Kia has revealed the facelifted EV6 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in Delhi. The brand has started accepting bookings, with the official launch set for March.

Just like the earlier model, the updated EV6 will be available in two GT-Line variants: rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD). Along with fresh looks and new features, the electric vehicle comes with improved mechanicals.

The updated EV6 is built on the E-GMP platform and features a larger 84kWh battery (up from 77.4kWh), which offers better energy density. This fourth-generation battery powers two motors, delivering a total of 325bhp and 605Nm of torque. Kia claims a range of over 650km on a single charge.

Furthermore, charging has also improved, with a 350kW fast charger that can charge the battery from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 18 minutes.

Dimensions remain unchanged, with the EV6 measuring 4,695mm in length, 1,890mm in width, and 1,550mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,900mm.

The previous LED Daytime Running Lamps have been replaced with nearly triangular ones, outlining the headlights to complete the signature Star Map lighting. The bumper has been subtly redesigned, including a new lower grille, and now has no chrome parts.

While the overall silhouette remains the same, the GT-Line trim gets new 19-inch alloy wheels with a machined finish and body-coloured side cladding. The tail-lights and rear bumper have also been subtly reshaped.

Mr. Gwanggu Lee, MD and CEO of Kia India, said, “Since the EV6 first hit the roads, it has garnered widespread admiration, growing in popularity and strengthening its global reputation.”

Inside, the EV6 features a two-spoke steering wheel with the new Kia logo on the right. There’s also a fingerprint sensor for keyless entry and start. The driving experience is enhanced with an improved head-up display (HUD), a digital rear-view mirror, and AI-powered navigation, which is a feature borrowed from the latest Genesis cars. The front camera’s input is displayed with helpful graphic overlays.

Kia has kept the curved panoramic screen, which houses two 12.3-inch displays for the instrument cluster and infotainment. It also supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ambient lighting, a wireless charger, a digital key, vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, and over-the-air (OTA) software updates.

The EV6 has earned a 5-star Euro NCAP rating (from testing the pre-facelift version in 2022) and comes with a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). This includes forward, rear, and blind-spot avoidance assist, along with a reversing camera and parking sensors for both the front and rear.
