Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, ever since bringing the new stars for the third-generation leap, is struggling to maintain a spot in the TRP ratings. While the previous cast of the show featured Savi (Bhavika Sharma) and Rajat (Hitesh Bharadwaj), the new cast is headlined by Sanam Johar, Param Singh and Vaibhavi Hankare. Despite the bunch of stars, the show failed to regain its popularity among fans. To revive the TRP ratings, the makers are now reportedly planning to bring back Bhavika Sharma. However, an official confirmation is awaited.

Ever since its inception, Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin has undergone several changes. In the first generation, the show starred Neil Bhatt, Ayesha Singh and Aishwarya Sharma in lead roles. For the second generation, the makers roped in Bhavika, Shakti Arora and Sumit Singh, who garnered immense love from fans for their portrayal of the lead protagonists. Since June 2024, the daily soap stars Bhavika alongside Hitesh Bharadwaj and Amayra Khurana.

Premiered in 2020, Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin was a loose adaptation of the Bengali series Kusum Dola at the beginning. The show lost its spot from the BARC (Broadcast Audience Research Council) top 10 shows list last month. While Udne Ki Aasha starring Kanwar Dhillon and Neha Harsora bagged the top spot, Rupali Ganguly’s Anupamaa secured its second position with 2.0 ratings. The third spot, further, was claimed by Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, starring Samridhii Shukla and Rohit Purohit in lead roles.

The exit of Savi and Rajat’s track in the show led to welcoming the new leads—Sanam Johar, Param Singh and Vaibhavi Hankare. Talking about the show’s declining TRP, Param, who plays Neelkant Pradhan, told India Forums, “I think there’s not one thing which can be blamed. It is a cumulative thing. I don’t know, exactly nobody knows. The business is trial and error and people want to experiment. It’s art.”

He added, “You want to just show what you believe in and what, what you want to show, like basically if you are convinced you want to just show something which you have not done before and if it works, it’s great. If it doesn’t work, you just try harder.”

Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, one of the most popular shows on Indian television, focuses on a new love triangle involving Neel, Tejaswini and Rituraj as a part of the third-generation love triangle.
