Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma fame Bhavya Gandhi is making his Bollywood debut with the historical drama Kesari Veer.

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah star Bhavya Gandhi was spotted recently at the special screening of Kesari Veer—his debut Bollywood film. Gandhi, who gained popularity as Tipendra Jethalal Gada aka Tapu of TMKOC, starred alongside iconic actors like Suheil Shetty and Vivek Oberoi in the film. The film narrates the story of Hamirji Gohil, a brave warrior who faced the Tughlaq Empire to protect Somnath Temple.
Gandhi, aged 27, who is a prominent actor in the Gujarati film industry, essayed the role of Lakha, Hamirji’s friend, in the film.
A viral video showed Bhavya Gandhi attending the special screening of the film, set to release on May 23, with his mother. The video was posted by paparazzi site TellyChakkar. Many commenters were happy to see him and still reminisce about his character Tapu.
Earlier this year, the actor had made the announcement of his debut by sharing a teaser of the film. He captioned it, “My next! #KesariVeer – Dharam, Aastha aur Somnath ki Pavitra Bhoomi ki Raksha ka sangram.”
Bhavya Gandhi in an interview with ETimes had previously said he was excited for the film’s release and to show people a new side of his craft. He expressed hope that his character lives in the film.
Apart from Suniel Shetty and Vivek Oberoi, the film stars Sooraj Pancholi, Aruna Irani, Barkha Bisht, and Himanshu Malhotra. Sooraj Pancholi is essaying the titular character of Hamirji Gohil.
While Oberoi will be seen as the chief soldier of Tughlaq dynasty who led an invasion to plunder Somnath temple and enforce religious conversions. Shetty meanwhile plays the role od an ally who supports Veer Hamirji Gohil in the battle to protect the shrine.
The film was initially slated to release on March 14, 2025 but the date was pushed to May 16, 2025. However, the date was pushed again to May 23, 2025.
The historical drama has been directed by Prince Dhiman and produced by Kanu Chauhan. Their distributor, Panorama Studios, in their announcement over release delay announced that the delay will allow the film to have a more globally impactful launch.
Meanwhile, Bhavya Gandhi was last seen in the Gujarati film Ajab Raat Ni Gajab Vaat.
