Actress and reality television personality Soniya Bansal is stepping away from the entertainment industry. Known for her vibrant on-screen presence and glamorous career, the Bigg Boss 17 fame said she was choosing a different path for self-discovery, peace, and purpose.
In an interview with The Times of India, Bansal revealed she no longer found fulfilment in the glitz and chaos of the showbiz world.
“We’re so much into doing everything for others that we forget ourselves. I realised I don’t even know what my true purpose is anymore. In this race to be perfect, to stay relevant, and to earn more, I lost myself,” she confessed.
Bansal emphasised that her decision was more than just leaving a profession; it was about reclaiming her identity. Soniya stated, “Money, fame, popularity – I had it all. But what I didn’t have was peace. And what will you do with the money if you’re not at peace? You may have everything externally, but if you’re empty inside, it’s a very dark place to be.”
The actress urged others to look beyond materialistic success and prioritise introspection. Explaining the same, she said, “I want to deeply study what I really want in life. This industry gave me recognition, but it didn’t give me stillness. It didn’t allow me to breathe. I don’t want to pretend anymore. I want to live authentically for myself and be a Life Coach & Spiritual Healer.”
Reflecting on the unpredictable nature of life, Bansal added, “You never know when your life will change. You never know when death might knock. And if we haven’t lived truthfully by then, what’s the point of this entire journey?”
Soniya Bansal started her career as a model before taking up acting. She marked her Bollywood debut with the movie Game 100 Crore Ka. The film also featured actors like Shakti Kapoor, Vishal Mohan, Rahul Roy, and Pankaj Berry. Later, she featured in multiple music videos and films like Dubki and Shoorveer. In addition to this, Soniya has also appeared in Telugu cinema, winning the hearts of audiences with films like Yes Boss and Dheera.
She shot to the spotlight after her appearance in the 17th season of the popular controversial reality show Bigg Boss. She grabbed eyeballs with her strong opinions and active participation in tasks, but her journey was short-lived as she became the first contestant to be evicted. The winner of the 17th season of the Salman Khan-hosted show was comedian Munawar Faruqi, with Abhishek Kumar finishing as the runner-up.
