Choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan, currently hosting Celebrity MasterChef, talked about Holi in a recent episode and called it a festival of ‘chhapri’ people. Her derogatory comment has left netizens upset and disappointed, with many expressing their disappointment and accusing her of hurting sentiments. Adding to the growing chorus of disappointment, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson and Bigg Boss 18 contestant Tajinder Bagga recently voiced his disapproval regarding her comments on Holi.

The politician took to social media and slammed the filmmaker for targeting Indian culture and festivals. On February 21, Tajinder Bagga dropped a video on Instagram and called the choreographer the “biggest chhapri.”

Reacting to her remarks, Bagga said, “The statement given by Farha Khan that Holi is the festival of Chhapris, I feel that targeting Indian culture and festivals has become the most important work of these Chhapris. I feel that Farha ji, you’re the biggest Chhapri. We have been celebrating Holi for many years and many centuries and people of India celebrate Holi and Diwali well, but some Chhapris like you come and try to defame it.”

Calling Farah Khan the “biggest Chapri,” he also demanded an apology from her in the video. “That’s why you should apologise to the Indian people. You should apologise for saying that Holi is a festival of Chhapris,” he added.

Along with the video, he captioned, “Shameful statement by Farah Khan. Targeting Indian culture and festivals has become a soft target for people like Farah Khan.”

The filmmaker-choreographer talked about the festival of Holi on Celebrity MasterChef and called it a festival of ‘chhapri’ people. “Saare chhapri logon ka favourite festival Holi hota hai,” she said.

Meanwhile, a complaint has been filed by social media personality Vikash Fhatak, popularly known as Hindustani Bhau, for allegedly hurting Hindu sentiments. As reported by IANS, the social media personality expressed disappointment with Farah Khan’s recent comment and demanded legal action against Farah for her controversial statement. Filed at Khar Police Station, Mumbai, the complaint urged the authorities to take strict action against Farah under sections 196, 299, 302 and 353 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
