BJP distanced itself hours after party MP Nishikant Dubey held CJI Sanjiv Khanna responsible for all the civil wars in India. It has also opposed the statement made by party leader Dinesh Sharma.
In a post on X, BJP President JP Nadda said that the party has nothing to do with the statements made by Nishikant Dubey and Dinesh Sharma on the judiciary and the Chief Justice of the country. He called the comments as their personal statements and added that the party neither agrees with such statements nor does it ever support such statements.

The Rajya Sabha MP, Nadda, also added that BJP completely rejects such statements.
“Bharatiya Janata Party has always respected the judiciary and gladly accepted its orders and suggestions because as a party we believe that all the courts of the country, including the Supreme Court are an integral part of our democracy and are the strong pillar of the protection of the Constitution,” the BJP chief posted on X.
In the post, JP Nadda has also mentioned that he has instructed both of them and everyone else to not make such statements.
Dubey, one of the more vocal party members in the Lok Sabha, said Parliament and state assemblies should be closed down if the apex court has to make the laws. Later, Dubey also said that the Chief Justice of India, Sanjiv Khanna, is responsible for all the civil wars happening in this country. He further added that the Supreme Court is going beyond its limit, and if one has to go to the Supreme Court for everything, then Parliament and the State Assembly should be shut.
“Chief Justice of India, Sanjiv Khanna, is responsible for all the civil wars happening in this country,” Nishikant Dubey told ANI.The BJP leader further alleged that the Supreme Court want to take this country towards “anarchy.”
“How can you give direction to the appointing authority? The President appoints the Chief Justice of India. The Parliament makes the law of this country. You will dictate that Parliament?… How did you make a new law? In which law is it written that the President has to take a decision within three months? This means that you want to take this country towards anarchy. When the Parliament sits, there will be a detailed discussion on this,” Dubey said.
Another MP of BJP, Dinesh Sharma, also said that no one can challenge the President, as the President is “supreme.”
“There is an apprehension among the public that when Dr BR Ambedkar wrote the Constitution, the rights of the Legislative and Judiciary were clearly written…According to the Constitution of India, no one can direct the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and the President has already given her assent to it. No one can challenge the President, as the President is supreme,” Dinesh Sharma told ANI.
