The new service will focus on handling heavier shipments such as furniture, repair parts, and bulk grocery orders for B2B clients.
Borzo, formerly known as WeFast, has unveiled a new 3-wheeler and truck delivery service to cater to larger shipments and offer more flexibility to businesses.
This move marks a significant step in expanding into a new market segment, as Borzo aims to support bigger deliveries for businesses in major cities.
The service will first roll out in Mumbai, with plans to expand to Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Pune by the end of 2024.
Borzo aims to have 1,500 couriers on board by then, using a mix of 3-wheelers and Tata Aces. The addition of these vehicles will allow Borzo to handle bulkier shipments like furniture, repair parts, and large grocery orders for B2B clients.
The company’s target is to handle 500 3-wheeler and truck deliveries a day by 2025. This initiative is part of Borzo’s strategy to capture a larger share of the B2B logistics market and position itself as a flexible and cost-effective alternative to current providers. The aim is to strike a balance between cost and speed, offering clients increased convenience and adaptability.
Borzo’s new 3-wheeler and truck fleet will seamlessly integrate into its existing services, which have been successful with 2-wheeler deliveries. Couriers will continue to work as gig-workers or as part of small fleets, handling on-demand and end-of-day deliveries through Borzo’s app.
Initially, traditional 3-wheelers will be used, with plans to include electric vehicles in the future. The couriers, who own their vehicles, will have the flexibility to manage their schedules, ensuring high efficiency in operations.
“Since the demand for heavier and more massive cargo shipments continues to rise, we could not handle all these shipments with our two-wheeler fleet alone,” said Alina Kisina, CEO of Borzo.
To promote the service, Borzo will offer special promo codes, ensuring competitive prices for B2B clients.
