In a significant development, Maharashtra ATS conducted a raid in Thane in connection with a terrorism-related case. The raid targeted the residence of Saquib Nachan, a former office bearer of the banned outfit SIMI (Students Islamic Movement of India). Saquib Nachan was previously convicted for his involvement in the Mumbai blasts and had completed his sentence in 2017. However, fresh allegations have emerged accusing him of re-engaging in radical activities. Acting on intelligence inputs, ATS officials searched his home as part of a larger investigation into extremist networks. The operation marks a renewed focus on individuals with a history of terrorism links. Authorities are now scrutinizing Saquib’s recent contacts and activities to determine the extent of his alleged involvement.
