The Supreme Court has ordered the National Testing Agency to release the centre-wise scores of NEET-UG candidates by July 20, ensuring their identities remain confidential.
On Thursday, the Supreme Court ordered the National Testing Agency (NTA) to announce the center and city-specific results of the contentious NEET-UG 2024 by noon on July 20, with the candidates’ identities concealed. This directive aims to determine if the scores of candidates from the purportedly compromised centers were higher than those from other locations.
A bench led by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud addressed the allegations of malpractices in the May 5 examination’s conduct, noting that any order to conduct it again must be based on a clear finding that the alleged leak was “systemic” and compromised the integrity of the entire process.
“We direct the NTA to publish the marks obtained by students at the UG-2024 NEET examination, while, at the same time, without disclosing the identity of the students. The result should be declared city and centre wise by 12 noon on July 20, 2024 and shall be uploaded on the website of the NTA,” the bench, also comprising Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra said, PTI reported.
On Saturday, 36 crore saplings are set to be planted across Uttar Pradesh, with Chief Minister Adityanath attending the event in Lucknow.
On Saturday, around 36.46 crore saplings are set to be planted throughout Uttar Pradesh, marking a state government effort to expand the green cover. The campaign will commence with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath planting saplings in Lucknow, the state capital.
The chief minister is likely to inaugurate the ‘Ped Lagao, Ped Bachao Jan Abhiyan – 2024’ by planting saplings in the Akbarnagar area of Lucknow, which has been cleared of unauthorized encroachments to revive the Kukrail river, an official stated on Friday.
Strong measures will be implemented to ensure the safety of the plants, including geo-tagging the planting sites, the official added.
“The people of the state will come forward to face the environmental challenge by becoming a part of this sacred campaign of plantation amid the ongoing Van Mahotsav,” Adityanath told PTI.
