As the festive season starts, a significant increase in footfall is anticipated at railway stations of major cities. In response, the Northern Railway has implemented changes to the entry system at New Delhi Railway Station to enhance crowd management.

According to Himanshu Shekhar, Chief Public Relations Officer of Northern Railway, measures to maintain order during this period include platform-specific entry gates and separate entries for passengers with reservations and those with general tickets.

Under the new system, entry to platform 16 from the foot overbridge has been closed. Passengers with reservations for trains departing from platform 16 can access it exclusively through gates 7 and 10, located in the Ajmeri Gate side.

Entry for General Ticket Holders

A dedicated gate and a ‘green corridor’ have been designated for passengers with unreserved general tickets to facilitate smooth entry. These passengers can enter through gate number 12 from the Ajmeri Gate side, using the designated green corridor.

Passengers travelling to platforms 1 to 15 can use gates 8, 9, and 11. Entry to these platforms will not be permitted through other gates.

No Entry From Metro Skywalk

Direct access from the DMRC Metro Skywalk to the foot overbridge at New Delhi Railway Station has been temporarily suspended till November 2. Passengers will need to take a detour to reach the station during this period.
