CookieRun Game Review: Quick Fun For Quick Breaks, With A Hint Of Gulab Jamun

CookieRun Review: BGMI-maker Krafton forayed into the horizon of casual running games with the launch of CookieRun. The game was launched on December 11, and since then, more than 500,000 users have downloaded it from the Google Play store. More than 1,320 users have voted it to score 4.7 out of 5 stars. CookieRun brings an endless runner experience enhanced with Indian-themed characters, maps and events, that could satiate you enough during your quick breaks between classes or work assignments.

But does the game really fare well? Dive into this review to know more.

CookieRun Game Review: Concept, Gameplay

The basic concept of the game is that you get to be a cookie or delicious Indian sweets, and you get to run to collect coins and in-game rewards.

Featuring intuitive controls that allow anyone to pick up and play with ease, the game also offers challenging gameplay designed to push even the most skilled players to their limits. The character that you get will run automatically, but you can control it to make it jump and slide down. You can also do a double jump to score the coins that are placed high in the air. One can also play this game with friends. However, it is possible that after some time you might get bored as the running will go on and on and on.

While running, you will collect life potions, coins, sweets, and much more. As expected, you will have to avoid obstacles while running.

Whether you’re playing to unwind or striving to become the top runner on the leaderboard, CookieRun India offers a good mix of fun and competition.

Other competitors in this genre like Temple Run and Subway Surfers have built a loyal fanbase as they captivate gamers much better than CookieRun due to high graphics and fun in-game sound/music. How does CookieRun fare, you wonder? Find out below.

The graphics of the game are of decent level. The game’s colour palette exudes a warmer feel to ensure not too much strain on the eyes. Brighter colours often hook users, the way Temple Run does, but it also in a way makes the eyes feel tired after playing for some time.

If developers wish to hook gamers to the game and keep it comparatively healthier for them, then they have to strike a perfect balance between the colours in the game.

CookieRun Game Review: Final Verdict

CookieRun by Krafton is a commendable effort to localise the popular franchise CookieRun. The game is good to play in leisure time but it might not be that addictive in nature, when compared to its more popular rivals.

Fair warning though, since you will be playing as Kaju Katli and Gulab Jamun in the game, so you might eventually crave a sweet or two while playing.
