Crude oil price sinks 7% as Trump calls for a ceasefire between Iran and Israel


Oil continued to decline after U.S. President Donald Trump declared a provisional ceasefire between Iran and Israel.

Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, dropped by as much as 7 per cent during early Asian trading. This sharp fall — following a volatile Monday session that ended with significant losses — pushed prices below where they stood on June 12, the day before Israel launched an attack on Iran.
