Elon Musk’s name change to ‘Gorklon Rust’ on X sparks buzz

Elon Musk is at it again with the name and DP changes. The billionaire sparked intrigue by updating his X handle to ‘Gorklon Rust’ on Sunday.This playful name seems to be in reference to “Grok”, the AI chatbot from Musk’s company xAI, and Rust, the programming language that is reportedly part of xAI’s technical infrastructure. Musk also updated his profile picture to what appears to be a distorted version of the Grok logo.

It could also be in reference to the meme coin ‘Gorklon Rust’ on the Solana blockchain, which is currently traded on decentralised platforms such as PumpSwap, Raydium, and Meteora.

This is not the first time Musk has changed his name or profile picture on the social media platform he acquired in 2022.

In December, he briefly adopted ‘Kekius Maximus’, possibly nodding to a meme-inspired cryptocurrency token, Kekius. The name is based on a lesser-known meme that combines the popular Pepe the Frog character with Maximus from Gladiator.

This caused the coin to surge by over 500% within hours.

The latest name change comes shortly after Musk on Saturday revealed an overhaul of X’s recommendation algorithm, which will now incorporate artificial intelligence to improve the user experience.Musk wrote, “The X recommendation algorithm is being replaced with a lightweight version of @Grok, so will soon be dramatically better!.”

“You should notice some improvement already,” he added.
