Farman Haider will portray Digvijay in Pocket Mein Aasmaan, a husband who challenges his pregnant wife to choose between her career and motherhood.
Farman Haider, the actor known for his roles in shows like Saavi Ki Savaari and Haqeeqat Bhi Dikhaye, is back on screen with a new project titled Pocket Mein Aasmaan. The show focuses on the journey of Rani (played by Abhika Malakar) as she navigates the challenges of balancing her dreams, career and motherhood. In the show, Farman will portray the role of Digvijay, her husband who challenges his wife to choose between her career and motherhood.
Despite her pregnancy, Rani refuses to give up on either her aspirations or her family life. In a recent interview, Farman shared his thoughts on the unique nature of the show. “Pocket Mein Aasmaan is a very different and unconventional tale, and this is where our show stands out, as Rani, the lead girl of the show, is pregnant, so it’s interesting to see the point of view of a pregnant woman who then goes on to study and stands very different from the normal main lead girl,” he told ETimes.
The actor also discussed the challenge of portraying his character, revealing that he tapped into the anger and frustration he felt during his youth to better connect with Digvijay’s emotions and motivations.
In the interview, Farman pointed out that Rani’s determination is the core of the story and her decision not to let pregnancy hold her back makes her journey truly inspiring.
“The challenge for Rani in the snow is that despite being an expecting mother, she wants to not let that slow her down; she still wants to aim for all her dreams, and what makes her life more troublesome is Digvijay, her husband, who tells her to choose one, either pregnancy or career,” he said.
Farman further elaborated that his character, Digvijay, symbolizes the societal pressures placed on women, where they are often forced to choose between career and motherhood. He explained that Digvijay embodies this mindset, reflecting the belief that women can’t “do it all.” However, the show’s core message challenges this notion, emphasising that women like Rani can thrive in both their personal and professional lives.
“I think it is time we show the world through our show Pocket Mein Aasmaan that there’s nothing that girls and women can’t do,” he said.
Produced by Boyhood Productions, Pocket Mein Aasmaan is set to premiere on January 30 at 11 PM on Star Plus and Disney+ Hotstar.
